A Social Network for all ISISian's

The ISIS just concluded its 3rd Policy Conference held on July 5-7, 2008 at the De Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de oro City.

Among the major issues discussed was the plan to open a College. This is an old plan, a part of a ladderized scheme when the school opened in 1995, but put on hold due to some more pressing problems the school had to face. The school opened with less than a hundred kindergarten and Grade 1 pupils with one grade level added each year until it paused after it graduated its first batch of high school students some three years ago. And from less than a hundred pupils in 1995, it has now 3,600 pupils.

The plan to open a college had been delayed due to some technical problems which need resolving such as how to continue with its unique feature of integrating the Arabic/Islamic madrasah system with that of the Philippine educational system. While this was effectively shown to be possible in the elementary and high school level by ISIS itself, there will certainly be problems in a college setting and need to be worked out first. It seems the ISIS Board of Trustees must have finally come up with a workable plan. Based on what was so far agreed among the BOT members, working on the plan should immediately start and the target date of opening was tentatively set in June, AY 2009-2010.

Present in the Conference were top officials of both the the Markazzuz Sabab and the Ranao Council, most of whom are also members of the Board of Trustees of the ISIS, the school being a joint venture.

....Isn't it a good idea??

It is a very good idea, the integration of college education and the religion ISLAM...

However, in my own opinion, it is very premature.. Considering the Global Financial Crisis the World is facing, it is not practical for a Moro/Maranao to spend much money for Education.. High School in ISIS is already expensive, how much more College...?

We already have MSU, a free University intentionally built for POOR MUSLIMS in the MINSUPALA Region especially for us MARANAO.. Though it is free, hindi nman mumurahin yung makukuha natin na knowledge, in fact, it can compete Nationally and even World wide.

For now, ISISF should focus on standardizing its curriculum (high school) for the students to be well-equipped and ready enough to face the college education....

ISISF does have many competitors, we have AKIC and MSU in Marawi... Sa mga walang kaya, they will choose MSU... Yung mayayaman dn, they will choose Iligan, CDO, or apiya anda pragatan, mga sosyal eh...
hehehehe...

"That's my opinion....."
